2nd to 5th February 2024

Conscious Chocolate is teaming up with Kim Bryant the founder of Ellasfield to offer you and a plus one the chance to win a private Cacao Ceremony in the village of Coneyhurst nestled in the West Sussex Countryside.

Each ceremony is created with reverence and orchestrated for the current moment, no ceremony is ever the same and Kim works with an ancient medicine wheel of these lands to bring a deep sense of connection to your heart, the earth and the elements.

Kim shared that “Sitting in ceremony with cacao is a way to allow people to quieten their minds and sink into their hearts; to connect to their authentic power, creativity and connection to all. When we begin operating from our hearts, the shifts can be huge.”

Your personally created ceremony experience is a magical weaving of many elements.

Cacao and Spirituality

Cacao is the fruit of the Theobroma Cacao tree and the main ingredient in chocolate. In the 1950’s, Botanist Carl Linnaeus gave the Cacao tree its scientific name, Theobroma, which translates to ‘food of the gods’ in Greek. Cacao is the Spanish adaptation of the word “Kakaw” – the Mayan word for the cacao tree. The many cacao ceremony benefits extend to the mind, body, and spirit.

A cacao ceremony is a centuries-old ritual used for spiritual and medicinal purposes. It was an intricate part of Mesoamerican cultures. Traditionally, cacao was consumed by royalty and at ceremonial gatherings to facilitate healing, connection, and revelation.

Today, drinking cacao is a popular ritual across the globe as a way to relax the body and clear the mind. With this awareness Ellasfield creates ceremonies with a sensitive and respectful appreciation of the heritage of Cacao and offers her in new and beautiful ways for the times we live in and the land with live on.

It is said that when man and Mother Earth become out of balance Mama Cacao will speak to our hearts and bring us back to kindness and equilibrium.

We go on trips to get us out of cities and into the wild, we are now craving experiences and pursuits that bring us to nature, away from technology and into a calmer and more connected state. Indeed, taking time out of our day to slow down, become still, and spend time in Nature is one of the most beautiful gifts we can give ourselves.

However, we don't all have time to take one or two weeks out of busy schedules but most of us can find a couple of hours and this is how Cacao Ceremonies are weaving their way into our fast paced lives.

Cacao ceremonies are only minutes out of our frantic lives where the tranquil stillness of a candlelit yurt await and phenylethylamine and anandamide the heart-opening, feel-good chemicals for which Ceremonial Cacao is celebrated, helping us through difficult times by holding us in high vibration, encouraging us to meet it all with love and invite us to flow with the rhythm of life.

When we take the time to consume our Cacao elixir with attention and intention, we honour its source, receive its wisdom, and come home to ease inviting us to flow with the rhythm of life rather than resit or push against it.

Recent findings support ancient wisdom and affirm the many beneficial effects of cacao. While the only way to feel the full power of a cacao ceremony is in a traditional immersive gathering with a facilitator, you can still enjoy making and drinking cacao in the comfort of your own home using ethically sourced cacao paste.
